"WHY?" MOMENTS

So within the past week I have had a series of unfortunate events take place in my life. One of those things being the fact that both my vlogging camera and my beat headphones got stolen (depressing I know). I have been so extremely stressed out about school and life after graduation that it hadn't even occurred to me that my camera and beats were missing. The only thing that could even come to my mind was Why? Why did this have to happen to me? and why at this particular moment where my life was already full of unfortunate events? There was no anger no pity party just why? After going through shock and then accepting the fact that my stuff were indeed gone I realized how materialistic we, as in Americans can be. My mother just came back from Liberia not to long ago and she spoke to me about how her employers were so pleased with her because she gave them all bags of rice before coming back to the states. A bag of rice, not a raise, or a vacation, but a bag of rice. How selfish of me to even question God on why my camera got stolen when I still have a food, shelter, and good health. Yes I understand its a lot of money but those were both things that I can easily get back and not necessities by any means. I was acting as if I was entitle by becoming irritated with God that all these unfortunate things were happening as if he does not save me from so much everyday.

I say all this to say sometimes we have to really open our eyes to see the bigger picture in life. I know it sounds cliche but its the truth. We have become so costumed to letting certain material that are not necessities at all have a bigger effect on us than it really should. Don't get me wrong I am upset that my camera is gone because now I have to save up money to buy it back BUT I am not going to get mad to the point I want to curse everyone out. It's ok life happens this just happens to be a small hurdle that I have to manage to get over. Whoever has my camera and my beats obviously needed more than I did so by all means let them have it. I just pray that God shows them that stealing isn't the way to go about getting material that they may need.
